A wall out by 10mm over two metres is normal here rather than exceptional, which is why everything gets scribed to the wall instead of assumed square. Floors fall away too, so shelving is set from a datum line marked round the room rather than measured up off the boards.
Deeper reveals and thicker walls also change door and window joinery. If the property is listed or sits inside the conservation area, check before anything is ordered. That decides what is allowed rather than what is possible.
Yes, but internal joinery in a listed building can need consent, particularly where original fabric is removed or covered. We are not the people who grant that. Check with the Vale of Glamorgan conservation officer first and we will work to whatever comes back.
It is the normal condition of property in Cowbridge and it is the reason fitted work exists. Everything gets templated in the room. It does mean the labour is a larger share of the price than in a modern house.
