Staircase re-clad in oak with black spindles
An existing flight re-clad with oak treads, risers, strings and newels, finished with slim black metal spindles.

SERVICE
Staircases and balustrade
The existing flight was sound and staying exactly where it was, so it was re-clad rather than rebuilt. That is quicker and cheaper than tearing it out, and the finished result is the same.
Oak treads, risers, strings and newel posts, with slim black metal spindles and an oak handrail.
Spindle spacing is set so a 100mm sphere cannot pass through the balustrade, which is what the regulations require on a domestic flight.

Green oak porch, cut and pegged on site
A green oak gable porch framed and pegged on site, sat on carved padstones, with a reclaimed brick path laid up to the door.

Loft boarded out over full-depth insulation
A raised loft deck with the legs screwed down onto the joist tops, so the insulation underneath stays at full depth.
